Jericoacoara — Jeri to everyone who's been — is a national park on the northeast coast of Brazil. No paved roads, no cars on the streets. Just sand, wind, kites, and one of the most beautiful sunsets in the world from the top of the main dune every evening.
The riding is split between two distinct environments: the main ocean beach with steady trade winds and some chop for more dynamic riding, and the Lagoa do Paraíso — the Lagoon of Paradise — a short bike ride inland. The lagoon is flat, clear, and shallow, with consistent side-onshore wind that makes it perfect for progression and freestyle. It's genuinely one of the best kite lagoons on earth.
The ESE trade winds blow with remarkable consistency from June through January. July through November is peak season — wind almost every day, typically 20–28 knots. Schools are well established here and the gear available reflects a mature, active kite scene.
Full LEI kite fleets at established schools. The trade winds run 18–28 knots in peak season — 10m and 12m kites cover most days well.
Twin tips are standard. Some schools near the lagoon also carry hydrofoil setups — Jeri's flat water is one of the best foiling environments in the world.
Bars matched to school inventory. Jeri's kite scene is mature — equipment quality is high and well-maintained.
Foil boards and foil kites are increasingly available at Jeri's top schools. The lagoon is ideal — flat water, steady wind, room to fly.
Sand streets. No cars.
Just wind and the Lagoa do Paraíso.
